  5. @QBOchat Hey everybody! Alan here with Avalara, your friendly neighborhood app for Tax Compliance Done Right. Spring has sprung here in Seattle, and I’m loving it! #QBOchat
  6. @TotallyBookedNY My husband is up there for the weekend for a wedding. He’s been struggling with the weather forecast and how it will be colder in Atlanta. #QBOchat
  7. Megan of The Mobius Group here, from sunny Saint Paul, MN #QBOchat
  8. Taking a break from patient (husband) care recovering from surgery #qbochat
  9. Hey everyone! Cathy Iconis here in Atlanta, GA – spring has been in full effect here!! The big pollen fall has already happened. #QBOchat
  10. Hey #QBOchat ‘rs …David Leary | Global Small Business Ecosystem Evangelist | Intuit Developer Group | Tucson, AZ
  11. Hey, All! πŸ˜ƒ

Morgan w/ ClockShark here for another riveting, diverting, and *insert additional participle* #QBOchat πŸ‘‹

Looking forward to hearing about practicing spring cleaning! Wait, strike that. Reverse it. 🀣 pic.twitter.com/J7wnAkrqSu

  12. @davidleary Hey David!! Can you share the link for that awesome training you are going to do next week?!?! #QBOchat
  13. James from QB Community, not-very-sunny Mountain View and QB HQ, happy spring is here πŸ™‚ #QBOchat
  14. The first question is right around the corner, remember to use A1, A2, etc when answering a question. #QBOchat
  15. @QBOchat @davidleary Oh yeah! Those look terrific! (Still sitting in my inbox waiting for me to register.) #QBOchat
  16. @MeganTarnow Hooray! I love hearing that! A fun social activity is one thing; creating a cool community around it is a whole other level of awesome πŸ™‚ #QBOchat
  17. Hi friends!! Harika from Circulus here checking in from Dallas! Happy May, everyone πŸ™‚ Summer is approaching! #QBOchat
  18. @ChristineGalli Good to hear!! I hope the recovery keeps going well. #QBOchat
  19. Q1: What clutter stresses you out in your practice and/or your life? #QBOchat https://t.co/raBrFaDpdc

Q1: What clutter stresses you out in your practice and/or your life? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/raBrFaDpdc
  20. @JOngQBCommunity @avalara me too. The intersection of terror and enjoyment is kind of my driver. #QBOchat
  21. Hey everyone. Audrey with erplain, joining from Toronto. Looking forward discussing spring cleaning with #QBOchat
  22. @TotallyBookedNY Just because we’ve pushed through the huge pollen stuff. It is still really bad here. Our numbers are always off the charts #QBOchat
  23. A1: I know clutter in general stresses me out! When I feel like I have too many things coming at me, I tend to shut down. #QBOchat
  24. A1: email, phone calls, interruptions, repeat conversations #QBOchat
  25. A1: I feel like my brain reflects my space, so physical clutter completely throws me off. Although I’m learning to be better at blinders. #QBOchat
  26. @QBOchat #QBOchat Brandon Morris from Barons’, Inc. based in Alabama and Arkansas – FINALLY back for another QBOCHAT fix
  27. #qbochat A1 – My desk can get pretty cluttered throughout the day, I take notes when I’m on calls and then they wind up all over… attempting to implement Evernote/Workflowy to fix this. Also, unscheduled calls really throw me for a loop.
  28. @ChristineGalli Just having to many “To Do’s” in my head, on my project management system, emails, etc drives me crazy. #QBOchat
  29. @QBOchat @TotallyBookedNY I’m sitting at the allergist at the moment. Shots in both arms once a week. #QBOchat
  30. @TotallyBookedNY I hardly take calls on the fly because I like to focus on one task, get it done, then move on to the next thing. #QBOchat
  31. Q2: What activities are eating up your time but not delivering value to your life? #QBOchat https://t.co/hGUH4PSQxE

Q2: What activities are eating up your time but not delivering value to your life? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/hGUH4PSQxE
  32. @QBOchat #QBOchat I concur with @ChristineGalli too many to-dos if I don’t get them into my system…there will be an explosion!
  33. A2: I manage a few FB groups and right now trying to stay up to date in those is taking so much time because of the FB algorithm. I feel like I could easily miss something at any time so I’m always scrolling around. #QBOchat
  34. @QBOchat @ChristineGalli A1: That would be my answer too. Too many to do’s in my head makes me so unproductive, I cannot focus on anything. So I usually try to pause for a moment and add everything in my OneNote and free my mind! #QBOchat
  35. @QBOchat A1: Scheduling is a huge thing for me – if there are meetings and tons of deadlines going on at once it can get stressing. Thank goodness for calendars and to-do lists! #QBOChat
  36. A2: calls with prospective clients that try to suck the life out of you in their first free 30 minute consultation #qbochat
  37. @CirculusTech @QBOchat Even with @karbonhq I worry that things may fall through the cracks. It is hard to keep a lot of different balls in the air. #QBOchat
  38. @CirculusTech I feel like if I end up with too many meetings, then I get behind on everything else – and I really have a hard time scheduling time to work. So that means less meetings, right?! #QBOchat
  39. I’m currently resisting the urge to process a bill because I’ve already done AP for that client today… #QBOchat
  40. @qb_baron Woot-woot, Brandon! You're awesome! πŸ™Œ 😊 I'm rocking my shirt today too! #QBOchat https://t.co/cSAkB6oiMq

    @qb_baron Woot-woot, Brandon! You’re awesome! πŸ™Œ 😊 I’m rocking my shirt today too! #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/cSAkB6oiMq
  41. @ChristineGalli I actually get inspired by those. I think I’m doing a better job of getting calls from prospects who align with what I am trying to do. #QBOchat
  42. @ASBINC OMG! Yes!! We have a tailgate TV. Why?! It gets used maybe once or twice a year. And all the unopened amazon boxes. Seriously?!?! #QBOchat
  43. A2: It’s a mixed bag, but I can only help so many people in a day through our community. I want to help everyone but there isn’t enough time in the day. I don’t want to give anyone less of my attention than they deserve so I can’t always have the impact I want. #qbochat
  44. @davidleary I wish @SproutSocial would allow me to pull in my fb group feeds. It makes twitter and my fb page awesome already. #QBOchat
  45. A2: someday’s it feels like most…. I guess this is the purpose of today’s QBO chat ..right? #QBOchat
  46. A1: #QBOchat Sometimes my answer to clutter is…. Add another screen.
  47. @MeganTarnow @CirculusTech @karbonhq Yeah, I have tasks in @insightly, but I also keep a spreadsheet for each client for month end to make sure everything is getting done. #QBOchat
  48. A2: #QBOchat may not be “productive” but it definitely feeds my soul. In the end, so much is about #connection.
  49. @ChristineGalli Or, just get you to try to answer all their QBO q’s in that 30 minutes for free. #QBOchat
  50. @QBOchat @davidleary @SproutSocial That would be nice! I don’t think any social monitoring apps are able to pull in group feeds from any platform, though. Privacy settings won’t allow it. #QBOchat
  51. @shea_mobius Lol!! That task is done, move on to the next. Bills will be processed again next week. #QBOchat
  52. @ChristineGalli I’m starting to get people that specifically come to ME, and that is amazing. It’s helped that I’ve gotten clear about what I do and can send out a PDF with their options. (See, @wickersonabike? I was paying attention!) #QBOchat
  53. @QBOchat , my 30 minutes is meant to get the feel for prospect needs. I believe there’s a higher value to the client engagement #qbochat
  54. #SponsorShoutout to @DocuSendMail. DocuSend is the cost-effective way to streamline mailing of invoices and estimates. https://t.co/QuzMlSToSY #QBOchat https://t.co/UPdy6wgTt0

#SponsorShoutout to @DocuSendMail. DocuSend is the cost-effective way to streamline mailing of invoices and estimates.  http://bit.ly/2q8t8Jt  #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/UPdy6wgTt0
  55. #qbochat A2 — EMAIL … Sometimes I pause my inbox using @baydin just so I am not sucked into the never ending email feed
  56. @ChristineGalli @MeganTarnow She just follows the Build Your Best QBO Practice Facebook group and sees all my inspirational shares! Lol!! #QBOchat
  57. @ChristineGalli @QBOchat I give them 15, which is usually closer to 30. And then I schedule a (paid) data file review. #QBOchat
  58. @QBOchat A3: I use OneNote for both personal and professional to-do’s. I recently started to use @asana to get more organized and set dates to my to-do’s in a calendar view. #QBOchat
  59. A3: Evernote! I use it to organize everything from content ideas to random thoughts to recording my core values as a human being. #QBOchat
  60. A3: @SlackHQ has been a game changer for us. One place for messaging. Unless it’s an emergency, that’s it. #qbochat
  61. A3: I use Intui’s Mint to help me stay organized financially, and then of course…Google Calendar for the daily stuff. #QBOchat πŸ’»
  62. @TotallyBookedNY @baydin I just saw @StacyKildal post about that the other day. I need to reinforce some of my boundaries. I’ve been getting sucked into things on my phone at night. #QBOchat
  63. @QBOchat Hello hello! Alex with TSheets by QuickBooks here in Boise, ID showing up #LearyLate! #qbochat
  64. Q4: What is a recent example of how you've organized something that was stressing you out? How did you do it? #QBOchat https://t.co/PNIedBLNXR

Q4: What is a recent example of how you’ve organized something that was stressing you out? How did you do it? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/PNIedBLNXR
  65. Oh yeah! Love @SlackHQ I especially enjoy seeing places where my staff has gone back and forth and solved things without me. #QBOchat  https://twitter.com/AmyWalkerCPA/status/992124041875132417 β€¦
  66. A3: Active Collab, Slack and Evernote are my Go TOS for streamlining processes with Team TIAB #qbochat
  67. A4: My organizations process usually includes throwing everything into a bigger mess and then putting things into categories to organize them and clean it all up. #QBOchat
  68. @QBOchat Hey everyone, I’ve got about 15 min to join #QBOChat today…
    Sorry it’s been sooooo long…
    Hope everyone’s been doing well.
  69. @QBOchat #QBOchat A3 – I’m using @Nimble for my lists, to-dos, events, etc. THIS is where it gets out of my head
  70. A4: Workflow. It was stressing me so I started using Trello. Love it! #QBOchat
  71. I think I just tweeted without the #QBOchat. Wow!!
  72. A3: it won’t be out until Sunday’s release, but I am really excited about @karbonhq new ability to comment on email. I think it will be a game-changer for my team. #QBOchat
  73. A1: Paper on my Desk, Emails in my inbox, Items staying in my To-Do list for more than 2 weeks, Knowing that I need to fix a problem, etc. #QBOChat  https://twitter.com/QBOchat/status/992118961214017537 β€¦
  74. @JOngQBCommunity You just taught me what the green logo means. Thanks, James. #QBOchat πŸ˜€
  75. @BConsultingNC Ahh yes, I miss Trello. It was a godsend in grad school πŸ™‚ #QBOchat
  76. @davidleary I’d love a deep dive into Zapier. Do you know of any webinars or tutorials? #qbochat
  77. A4: Does organizing your daughters wedding on Smartsheet count? πŸ˜† #qbochat
  78. @QBOchat @davidleary It’s on our radar and we’re currently collecting as much user feedback as possible. We’ll take this to our product team for stronger consideration for you. Thanks! #QBOchat
  79. I juggle a lot of content for QB Community. Each type lives in a different folder/database. If they aren’t on my desktop, they’re easily out of sight, out of mind. I reorganized my folders and created a dashboard with prioritization yesterday. #qbochat
  80. A2: Responding to emails…
Kills tons of time each day. Maybe I’m just too particular in how my responses look… #QBOChat  https://twitter.com/QBOchat/status/992120982553931776 β€¦
  81. Q5: When is the last time you evaluated your website and business forms to see if they are effective? What should we be looking for? #QBOchat https://t.co/RakfWnQZdK

Q5: When is the last time you evaluated your website and business forms to see if they are effective? What should we be looking for? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/RakfWnQZdK
  82. A5: Last week and they are not up to par. I have to update some things! #QBOChat
  83. Speaking of @zapier, @CathyIconis you should do a #QBOchat just on Zaps …I’m sure @HSatterley would join us
  84. Thanks for the great @QBOchat. Back to the patient and have a great week! #qbochat
  85. A4: I recently purged a folder of papers that I kept putting off, and off, and….BUT, after throwing away duplicate papers/documents, finally it’s manageable again! #QBOchat πŸ˜€πŸ“
  86. A4: I automated a series of weekly tweets to #QBOchat so that I will never be #LearyLate πŸ™‚
  87. @davidleary @zapier @CathyIconis @HSatterley As long as we can feed it in to another training course put on by @HSatterley – gotta share the business!! #QBOchat
  88. A4: For the past year, I’ve created email folders in my Office 365 and moved things from my inbox to the folders. That way I can get to #InboxZero on a daily basis.
I also create rules to send emails to certain folders, like email newsletters. #QBOChat  https://twitter.com/QBOchat/status/992124271882358784 β€¦
  89. A5: Our entire website needs to be revamped, but the company that built it isn’t exactly up to the task. I have been sort of looking at a more basic, DIY website like Squarespace, but I’m worried they won’t have enough functionality.

    Anyone here use SquareSpace?
    #QBOchat

  90. #qbochat A5 Last week, I re-branded, and added a scheduler form in place of a “contact us” form … working better already. Though I do need to update some content.
  91. A5: I bet websites are often overlooked. I’ve been avoiding the company one for a while and we are focusing on updating the QBOchat one. #QBOchat
  92. @QBOchat More coffee! Also, if anyone can power through a long evening of work it’s you! #Champ #QBOchat
  93. A4: email is such a huge stressor. It JUST. KEEPS. COMING. I’m trying to limit myself to just a couple of sessions a day, or it can eat up hours. #QBOchat
  94. A5: I am constantly doing a bit of a/b testing with layouts. But in true Intuit fashion, I always go right to the source of truth and ask community members/customers their perspectives and use that to guide my choices #qbochat
  95. @DocuSendMail @insightlycrm @SproutSocial Paper is definitely NOT dead!! It’s just that some people can benefit from different technologies better than paper. Not me though. #QBOchat
  96. @tsheets @QBOchat Yep – I had a great weekend on 4/20-4/23 up in Caldwell, ID area…
Had a ton of fun with friends that live there (especially since #TaxSeason was over).
    #QBOChat
  97. @shea_mobius I’m a wordpress junkie/DIY’er. It is such an awesome platform that is pretty easy to update, etc. #QBOchat
  98. @MeganTarnow I set a timer even when I limit the sessions. Time gets away quickly! #QBOchat
  99. @qb_baron @QBOchat I’m doing great! How about you? I’m hoping you are listed as one of the #Top10 ProAdvisors this year. πŸ˜‰ #QBOChat
  100. Q6: What tools or systems have you used to organize your digital data? Email, documents, etc? #QBOchat https://t.co/UfFklkLf1Q

Q6: What tools or systems have you used to organize your digital data? Email, documents, etc? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/UfFklkLf1Q
  101. @BConsultingNC Great idea. So often the task expands to fill the space available. #QBOchat
  102. @GoVeem But, this evening is all dedicated to “Mommyhood” – and tomorrow, and this weekend. #QBOchat
  103. @QBOchat I think I need to teach myself how to use it. I am new to website management, but, #manyhats #QBOchat
  104. @MeganTarnow I feel like once I put limits on my email time, then my inbox just gets bigger and bigger. I still spend a ton of time just deleting emails when I should be unsubscribing! #QBOchat
  105. @QBOchat @GoVeem I feel ya! After QBOChat I have to do my daughter’s hair and makeup and sit through hours of dance pictures at the studio. It’s that time of year! #QBOchat
  106. Q6: everything connects in @cloze email, slack chats, facebook, twitter, texts, phone calls, @evernote it’s all tied together #QBOchat
  107. I was at a conference last week where the keynote speaker proposed a 32 hour week. @rockwoodleaders did it 8 years ago, tripled budget w/out adding staff due to increased productivity. #ideal #QBOchat
  108. Q – test to see if I can figure out @davidleary‘s automation. #QBOchat
  109. @MeganTarnow @rockwoodleaders I stopped working on Fridays as of last week. We will see how it goes through the summer. I will still work some but it will be ON my biz not in it. #QBOchat
  110. A6: I used to always try new tools and apps, but I found I was just replicating the same process over and over. The improvements were incremental. I just stick to my Google Drive and remain an advocate of periodic backups to removable harddrives. Call me #oldfashioned
    #qbochat
  111. @BConsultingNC @GoVeem Wow!! We have a play today and tomorrow, then softball all weekend! Sunday might be the entire day (minimum of 3 games)! #QBOchat
  112. Q7: How can you make sure that you are still on track to reach your goals for life and your practice? #QBOchat https://t.co/9KaoQHFv5m

Q7: How can you make sure that you are still on track to reach your goals for life and your practice? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/9KaoQHFv5m
  113. A7: Laser focus. Let go of the things that don’t serve your goals and check in constantly to make sure your biz and goals look like what you want. #QBOchat
  114. A7: get a circle or tribe of folks that can push you #QBOchat
  115. A7: Not that I’m the best at this, but constantly measuring. Sticking with your goals, seeing how you measure up, then readjusting to be better. #QBOchat  https://twitter.com/QBOchat/status/992128769992294400 β€¦
  116. @QBOchat Since we’re a web-based business, we’re always tweaking our website to make sure our service is easy to use and the process is clear and that SEO is working well. We update welcome letters and other customer communications at least quarterly. #QBOChat
  117. Shuyi from Bento for Business here – missed a fun #qbochat! Great suggestions everyone. We recently wrote a blog post that addresses some of the questions today:  https://bentoforbusiness.com/post-tax-season-list-will-transform-practice/ β€¦
  118. A7: be clear on what your goals are, or even just what your NEXT goals are. I’m finding that stating them, day after day, makes it easier to move them forward. #QBOchat
  119. A7: I have a vision board that I created and it is the background on my computer. It tells me everything I’m working to create and somethings have already happened. #QBOchat
  120. @CalebLJenkins @QBOchat Oh that’s awesome!! I live right outside of Caldwell in Nampa! So glad you had a great time!!! πŸ™‚ #QBOchat
  121. @tsheets @QBOchat Here’s some pictures of my trip up to Caldwell (Boise, ID surrounding area)…
I did some hiking with these friends on Monday. I always love hiking and this was an awesome spot to hike in the middle of nowhere at Squaw Creek. #QBOChat pic.twitter.com/yvBNmCXjzUhttps://t.co/yvBNmCXjzUpic.twitter.com/yvBNmCXjzUhttps://t.co/yvBNmCXjzUpic.twitter.com/yvBNmCXjzUhttps://t.co/yvBNmCXjzUpic.twitter.com/yvBNmCXjzU
  122. @tsheets @CalebLJenkins @QBOchat Hold it – Caldwell, IDAHO? My cousin still works my grandparents’ orchard on Sunny Slope. #qbochat
  123. @qb_baron @QBOchat We’ll have to see about that…
IMO there are many more qualified people than myself.
    #QBOChat
  124. A7 – When it comes to keeping track of goals, I find it helpful to break down bigger goals into smaller ones. And ALWAYS set aside time just for relaxation, on a regular basis. #qbochat
  125. @shea_mobius Well, they have been accomplished within a month of creating the vision board. πŸ™‚ #QBOchat
  126. #qbochat A7 Sometimes your goals change. When I first started my business my goal was just to get paying clients, now it’s to work with only clients I enjoy working with & to scale as I do so. Realigning your goals and constantly reminding yourself of what they are is important.
  127. Q8: What are you going to do this weekend or next week to clean your practice or life? #QBOchat https://t.co/jloH3OcgRK

Q8: What are you going to do this weekend or next week to clean your practice or life? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/jloH3OcgRK
  128. @tsheets @QBOchat Yep – I’ve got quite a few non-work friends in Caldwell, Greenleaf, Nampa, Marsing, Homedale, Walder, etc.
Had a great time. Been in the area 4 times in the past 2 years. #QBOChat
  129. A8: This weekend, I’d love to throw out at least 2 big trash bags of junk from my house. #declutter #qbochat
  130. @MeganTarnow @tsheets @QBOchat That’s really cool. I’d move there in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself and I was able to move. I love the countryside there and the people there. #QBOChat
  131. @TotallyBookedNY So true! You don’t have to get many degrees off course to end up somewhere completely different than you intended. It’s a constant “warmer/ colder”. #QBOchat
  132. A8: I’m hoping that the people in my QBO Month End Masterclass will be working on creating their month end plans and working through them! Organization is key! #qbochat
  133. @CalebLJenkins @tsheets @QBOchat I haven’t been back since I was about 5 (step family, and divorce) but I have the best memories! #qbochat.
  134. Q8: Wrap up two major projects. Have let go of 3 PITA clients in the past 2 weeks. Do my filing! #QBOchat
  135. #qbochat A8 This weekend I am focusing on de-cluttering my brain. Reading some good books poolside. Next week I shall be ready to conquer the world! pic.twitter.com/AXngtfIyzK
  136. @QBOchat A8: I’m hoping to get caught up on a number of personal projects related to a prison ministry that I volunteer for that I delayed working on during tax season. As soon as they are done then I’ll feel better and less cluttered. πŸ™‚ #QBOChat
  137. A8: take a deep breath and really focus on my family over the weekend. And switch out my winter clothes, since spring is finally here. #QBOchat
  138. @MeganTarnow And, talking about manifesting, it’s about creating a result – not necessarily figuring out the “how” of getting there. The world will show you that. #QBOchat
  139. @BConsultingNC My filing consists of putting all the documents I probably don’t need but haven’t shredded in the “to be filed” folder in the filing cabinet. Lol! #QBOchat
  140. That’s it for this week’s #QBOChat, thanks for taking the time to tweet with us!
  141. Next week’s topic is: Customizing QuickBooks Online. Schedule it on your calendar now! #QBOchat
  142. @QBOchat That’s the other thing I’m planning to do this weekend. Clean out my room that’s been accumulating things since December. Happens every year. I get busy with tax season and then don’t have time to keep it clean. #declutter #QBOChat
  143. @QBOchat That’s where mine are now. In a box labeled “to file.” #QBOchat
  144. A8: Hope everyone meets their decluttering goals this weekend. Signing off as my plane is landing soon. @QBOchat is always time well spent. Bye, friends! #qbochat

#QBOchat began in July 2013 with the simple idea to host a weekly Twitter conversation around QuickBooks Online (QBO). We have since grown into a very strong community comprised of a diverse group of users. Our weekly tweet chat is held each Thursday at 3:00PM Eastern. The discussions cover a wide range of topics including QBO’s latest features and updates, business operation tips and apps that integrate with QBO, to name just a few.
