  15. @QBOchat For all w/ FBA clients: New sales tax amnesty program is a great op. to have convo re: disclosure!  http://avlr.co/2vmqzXV  #qbochat
  16. The client has to manually enter the billable rate. I’m looking for an easy solution for time and expenses to be added to invoices. #QBOchat
  17. Hey #QBOchat ‘rs David Leary | Global Small Business Ecosystem Evangelist | Intuit Developer Group | Tucson, AZ
  18. @MeganTarnow Not natively, no. There might be an app that does it, but I haven’t used one myself. #qbochat
  19. @MeganTarnow I don’t know of anything, but that would be nice. Or even being able to just link cells to amounts in QBO and auto update. #QBOchat
  20. @avalara @QBOchat Fifteen states and counting are participating, so big chance to eliminate liability!  http://avlr.co/2vmqzXV  #qbochat
  21. I have some stuff to get done for a 1pm meeting today, so if I’m quiet during #QBOchat today, that is the reason. (or excuse) 🙂
  22. @kninjaknetwork @BeanworksAP None here. I’m not even sure we have a “What Is” article for them up on the site. #QBOchat
  23. Knowify checking in from Broadway! #LearlyLate again…this is starting to become a regular occurrence… #qbochat
  24. @CathyIconis That would be AWESOME. I can combine reports in QBD this way, but not QBO. Other apps aren’t quite hitting it. #qbochat
  25. Hi friends!!! Alex here with TSheets in Eagle Idaho! #QBOChat
  26. What is the last App you downloaded? This has become my favorite question to ask job applicants. #QBOchat
  27. Q: Has anyone here used the Projects feature that’s in Labs? #qbochat
  28. @MeganTarnow I wonder if QODBC could do it and how hard it is to use. #QBOchat
  29. A pay to park app. So I can pay parking meters with my phone. RT @CathyIconis: What is the last App you downloaded? #QBOchat
  30. @CathyIconis That is a good question! Totally not QBO related at all, but I recently started using @Aaptiv for workouts and I love it! #QBOChat
  31. @AeroWorkflow A: I could think of a thousand uses if they weren’t tied to a customer! #QBOchat
  32. @AeroWorkflow Nope. I’m honestly worried that it’ll mess up the subcustomers we have setup on clients already. #QBOchat
  33. @CathyIconis Our work benefits just changed, so I downloaded a new health insurance app…real exciting, I know… :p #qbochat
  34. @CathyIconis I love my current “replace existing worksheet” ease of use. BAM! and Done. #QBOChat
  35. Does anyone train clients on proper QBO workflows? And, if so, what are your best tips and tricks for helping them remember? #qbochat
  36. @MeganTarnow I just wonder how hard that is to program, especially since it is a browser versus an application on your computer. #QBOchat
  37. @CathyIconis The last app that I downloaded was the “Nextdoor” app! I LOVE it to keep tabs on what is going on in my neighborhood! #qbochat
  38. @CathyIconis Right? I know nothing about what things take on the back end. #QBOChat
  39. @tsheets That is a good one. I actually started a FB group for my neighborhood which gets a ton of activity. #QBOchat
  40. I can get as addicting as Facebook! RT @tsheets: @CathyIconis The last app that I downloaded was the “Nextdoor” app! #qbochat
  41. @avalara @CathyIconis its awesome! you get to chat with neighbors, others in surrounding neighborhoods, etc! I actually used it bc my car got broken into #qbochat
  42. @avalara @CathyIconis (nothing was stolen or anything) & come to find out, 4 of my neighbors’ cars were broken into as well! #qbochat
  43. @schultetonya Most clients leave bookkeeping to us. Our first (and only) step, is usually – Upload to @ReceiptBank ,@Hubdoc or @BeanworksAP #qbochat
  44. Anyone want to share about a project you worked on recently where you had to find a workaround or new workflow? #QBOchat
  45. @CathyIconis @tsheets I always loved fireworks, and thunderstorms, but my dog HATES ’em. It’s hard to like something your dog hates. #QBOChat
  46. @CathyIconis @MeganTarnow I scrolled through the conversations and went back to around the 4th and YES! They were soooo cranky about fireworks! #qbochat
  47. @QBOchat Anyone taught clients (or yourself) the new partial PO workflow in QBO? I have been showing it a lot lately! #qbochat
  48. @MeganTarnow @CathyIconis ahhhh good point! I feel for the pups for sure but definitely love my fireworks for the 4th! #qbochat
  49. @CathyIconis Still looking. Wish we could time charges to a vendor to create a Bill in QBO. Like you can for a customer. #qbochat
  50. @CPAAccelerator Welcome!! It’s open Q&A, so feel free to share any Q’s or A’s you have. #QBOchat
  51. @CathyIconis I got the Safeway grocery delivery app. Groceries have been delivered to my door for the last three weeks! Glorious! #qbochat
  52. @AeroWorkflow What about getting the vendor to enter their time in Expensify as an expense report? #QBOchat
  53. @CPAAccelerator Fantastic! Are you plugged in to our accountant portal? You can benefit from referrals 🙂  http://avlr.co/2k6ok4Q  #qbochat
  54. anyone have a good solution for QBO and PayPal integration for eBay sellers? some of the sellers were struggling #qbochat
  55. @CPAAccelerator Depends on what you want. I use the Paypal App from  http://Apps.com  and it brings over what I want into QBO nicely. #QBOchat
  56. @CPAAccelerator But, I think it is only going to one service code and I haven’t checked if you can do more. #QBOchat
  57. Also is anyone using Intuit Practice Management? comments? #qbochat
  58. @vheckman You are a life saver, Valerie! These are exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! #qbochat
  59. @CathyIconis had to budget for different classes where the expenses were billed out each month but retain the info for the budget #tricky #qbochat
  60. Can I rave about @ChargeOver? They have been doing an amazing job helping me get a client setup on their app. #QBOchat
  61. @CPAAccelerator You can do the bank feed (which pulls it in net – yuck!) or you can go to  http://Apps.com  and use the paypal App there. #QBOchat
  62. @CathyIconis @ChargeOver That’s awesome! I just got an email about their new stuff and it all looks great. #QBOChat
  63. @schultetonya Hey Tonya! Training’s critical. We’ve laminated ‘battle cards’ for clients to have next to their desk to remind them of the process #qbochat
  64. What are the most common QBO issues you face with clients? #QBOchat
  65. @CathyIconis Definitely – even more so in implementation! It was a challenge for sure
  66. @schultetonya Also, a number of our firms also run webinars for their clients every week during a 20-minute lunch and learn! #qbochat
  67. @QBOchat Many seem to have “bookkeeper” confused with “all knowing mind reader” and dont think we need any documentation #qbochat pic.twitter.com/W8Cd0VQ1hK
  68. @MeganTarnow @QBOchat Or just issues with bank feeds in general – wrong matching, too many transactions being added, etc. #QBOchat
  69. On the training front, we do the books for the clients. I doubt most even want to log in to QBO. #QBOchat
  70. @TJSCMA @QBOchat I’m OK with it being data entry as long as it is a one line transaction. #QBOchat
  71. @QBOchat What do users want most from their apps – service, simple user experience, what else? From @Wagepoint #QBOchat
  72. What is one of your biggest professional struggles? #QBOchat
  73. @CathyIconis ok that’s what they are calling the sync but a CPA was having issues and it sounded like it was on the Paypal side. #qbochat
  74. @Wagepoint @QBOchat Free for ProAdvisors is nice. Great service, a solid App with great integration, and easy to use. #QBOchat
  75. @QBOchat Errors around paying credit card bills and the effect in the bank feeds #qbochat
  76. @CathyIconis @TJSCMA @QBOchat Hahaha!! We seem to have VERY FEW one line transactions. No app just knows to allocate across grants or programs! #QBOChat
  77. @CathyIconis – We have a mix. Plus, we like them to have at least a clue about what’s going on “under the hood.” #qbochat
  78. @qbexpertchicago @QBOchat Oh yeah. Enter a bill for the full amount and then pay all but $50! #QBOChat
  79. @CPAAccelerator I believe Intuit wrote that “sync”. You can’t even find it in Paypal – you have to go back to  http://Apps.com . #QBOchat
  80. @QBOchat I’m torn between struggling to turn work “off” & imposter syndrome. #QBOChat
  81. My advice for bank feed connectivity problems: try update button 1-3x and check that sign in info works at bank website. #qbochat
  82. @schultetonya @QBOchat I can see where that would be hard! Too much? Too little? It’s the 3 bears of owning a business. #QBOChat
  83. We totally agree! Training and customer support is very important to our team! #QBOchat
  84. @vheckman Is there a way to get bank feeds to update on all of your clients at once? I heard that Q the other day. #QBOchat
  85. @schultetonya @QBOchat Hello #qbochat Nice to be here! I def train on QBO workflows and specifically train on whether bookkeeper is solopreneur or scaling staff
  86. @QBOchat I’m really early in my professional life (finished grad school a year ago), so probably thinking about future career path. #qbochat
  87. @schultetonya @QBOchat Really good discovery helps understand the scope, which leads to confidence in your pricing #qbochat
  88. @vheckman A friend was noticing his staff spends a bunch of time waiting for accounts to update. #QBOchat
  89. @MeganTarnow @QBOchat LOVE when weeks of trans. duplicate & you have to un-auto all bank rules because the bank feed just brings it back! #qbochat
  90. @baballance @schultetonya @QBOchat #qbochat offer three options so client feels in control – choice of yesses rather than yes/no
  91. @QBOchat Big issue is when SMB clients are not aware of how much is REALLY involved in a QBO setup engagement #QBOChat
  92. @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat Just being happy with what you have in the bank at the end of the day is a good place to start. #QBOchat
  93. To kind of piggy back off of @CathyIconis question earlier – what is everyone’s all-time favorite app on their phone right now? #qbochat
  94. @CPAAccelerator @schultetonya @QBOchat Oh, I like that! Tiers of service? & they can choose the pricing/service structure they are most comfortable with. #QBOchat
  95. @MMartinezEA @QBOchat I had someone convert my price into a per transaction amount. I told him there is so much more to what we do. #QBOchat
  96. @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat #qbochat I just did a webinar on value. we need to communicate what we do because clients don’t know
  97. @CathyIconis Yikes, you can leave the page in QBO and do other things while the bank accounts update… #QBOChat pic.twitter.com/tsMtxE1bUN
  98. @tsheets It had been design home, but I’ve slowed down on that. Maybe Amazon? #QBOchat
  99. @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat That’s a very prudent thought. Anyone who says they don’t struggle with that, in any profession, is lying. #QBOchat
  100. @vheckman Great point! And, I bet you can just jump to the next client and then come back and it is updated? #QBOchat
  101. @avalara @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat Ditto @avalara. & I think it’s fantastic to open up about that – it allows open conversation between peers. #QBOChat
  102. @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat I’m finally getting there this year. I am happy with my bank balance and then I’m able to run more analysis on my biz. #QBOchat
  103. @baballance @QBOchat So true! 90% of the time I’m giddy with excitement about the future, but every now and then… #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/1VfxoUMRAH
  104. @avalara @schultetonya @Receipts_Damien @QBOchat Then have a community that “check & balances” when you’re undervaluing yourself ? Kind of like our friends have to do in real life. #QBOChat
  105. Anyone else hates voicemail? And answering the phone? I can’t break concentration. #QBOchat
  106. @tsheets @CathyIconis One minute I’m looking for books on tornadoes suitable for a 7 year old & then OOPS HOW DID THOSE BADGLEY MISCHKAS HAPPEN. #QBOChat
  107. What kind of bookkeeper/accountant training do you think is missing out there? #QBOchat
  108. Gotta run! Thanks for all the good info as always and the encouragement today! @vheckman, @CathyIconis and @Receipts_Damien #qbochat
  109. @dustinwCPA I have it too. I love it when people leave a voicemail. #QBOchat
  110. @tsheets @CathyIconis I’ve been utterly absorbed with Reddit for months. Truly the front page of the internet. #qbochat
  111. Just a few minutes left of #QBOchat. Does anyone have any chat topic ideas for the future?
  112. @QBOchat A chat where we communicate solely via .gifs? :p #qbochat
  113. Next week it’s “QBO Reporting”. Schedule it on your calendar now! #QBOchat
  114. @CathyIconis @QBOchat Not a dumb question! It’s a new lab. Scans the books for possible mistakes, missing info, etc. #QBOChat
  115. Thank you Cathy for as always, a great #qbochat! Have a great weekend everybody! See you next week 🙂
  116. Remember to sign up for our newsletter to get the most up-to-date news on #QuickBooks and #QBOchat.  http://bit.ly/2nJVXIC
  117. @CPAAccelerator @CathyIconis Can’t be a “trusted advisor”if you don’t know the advice to give! #QBOChat
  118. That’s it for this week’s #QBOChat, thanks for taking the time to tweet with us!

QBOchat Admin

#QBOchat began in July 2013 with the simple idea to host a weekly Twitter conversation around QuickBooks Online (QBO). We have since grown into a very strong community comprised of a diverse group of users. Our weekly tweet chat is held each Thursday at 3:00PM Eastern. The discussions cover a wide range of topics including QBO’s latest features and updates, business operation tips and apps that integrate with QBO, to name just a few.
