  21. A1: we are converting all the time. goal is to be 100% QBO in 2018. Experience converting is usually great and smooth..usually…#QBOChat
  22. A1: Not recently. I did it about 6 months or so ago for a client coming from QuickBooks for Mac. It went very smoothly. #qbochat
  23. @schultetonya Hi Tonya!! Are you going to QB Connect!? I just got word that I am officially on the list! Woop Woop! #QBOChat
  24. A1: I am working on getting our biggest client converted from Enterprise – going to integrate QBO with @knowify for that one. #qbochat
  25. @tsheets @avalara Pretty sure my heart is going to explode from meeting so many awesome people at once! #qbochat
  26. Share a Refund is a shipment auditing app designed to save you money. #QBOchat
  27. @schultetonya @knowify Great choice Tonya. Knowify kicks ass for construction clients. #qbochat
  28. @schultetonya Yay!! I’m going to be taking pictures with everyone! I can’t wait! #QBOChat
  29. A1. The process is quite seamless, especially if you have Intuit Support to help! #qbochat
  30. @AeroWorkflow @schultetonya Sarah will be there too?! This is going to be an app-solute blast 😀 #qbochat
  31. @CathyIconis @knowify Well, we’ve been working towards the conversion for a little under a year so… 😉 #qbochat
  32. Hey QBO Chatters! Looks like we’re later than @davidleary today ? Knowify checking in from New York, New York! #qbochat
  33. I haven’t done a conversion in forever. Most of my clients come to me already on #QuickBooks Online. #QBOchat
  34. A1: Did the last one beginning of this year and had to condense the QBDT file to get everything to work. #qbochat
  35. @QBOchat We have had some exceptions. Some databases we have had to sent to QBO for conversion, lets just say mistakes were made
    #qbochat
  36. @goshbookkeeping How did that go? We’re actually thinking about truncating the QBDE file that we’re going to be converting. #qbochat
  37. @CathyIconis on boarding clients on Knowify is easy when you have a good advisor to help out! ? @schultetonya #qbochat
  38. A1: I’ve heard it’s easier and faster to convert now. Keep up the good work! #QBOchat
  39. A1: Waiting on @Intuit to introduce the customer type function from QBDT to QBO to move my other nonprofit client. #qbochat
  40. Out of curiosity: has anybody in the chat tried out #BackupCircle free trial? Anything you did like or di not like? #qbochat
  41. @MoeTabesh Check out our Avalara for Accountants homepage and sign up from there! ?  http://avlr.co/2k6ok4Q  #QBOchat
  42. me too. Last conversion was early 2016. I do have one to convert from Xero. Anyone have experience with that. #QBOChat  https://twitter.com/CathyIconis/status/918555899165364224
  43. Q2: What are some common errors when converting to QuickBooks Online and how do you deal with those? #QBOchat https://t.co/xB68fbgBqy

Q2: What are some common errors when converting to QuickBooks Online and how do you deal with those? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/xB68fbgBqy
  44. @CathyIconis @goshbookkeeping Can’t move it over since there is no way for us to differentiate donors from parents that pay fees. #qbochat
  45. @QBOchat WOO! We LOVE that we get to be a part of #QBOChat every week!!!
  46. A2: Historical HST filings doesnt pull over 🙁 Thats the biggest one…
    #qbochat
  47. Hear, Hear!! RT @tsheets: @QBOchat WOO! We LOVE that we get to be a part of #QBOChat every week!!!
  48. @goshbookkeeping I’m guessing sub-customers would be too annoying to deal with? #QBOchat
  49. My only problem was I wish deleted the Bank rules before I transfered it to QBo.#QBOChat
  50. A2: Don’t forget to check the number of transaction targets before starting – 350,000 is the max #qbochat
  51. A2: Common errors are the file is too large, the balance sheet doesn’t balance, and can’t reorder COA without using numbers. #qbochat
  52. @schultetonya Can you condense the file to get that number down? Or do a period copy? #QBOchat
  53. A2: As for dealing with them – you do have a full 60 days after starting the QBO file to go ahead and start over and import again. #qbochat
  54. @CathyIconis @goshbookkeeping Yes & it becomes a nightmare to run donor statements at the EOY. We will have to keep track in Excel. #qbochat
  55. RT @schultetonya A2: 350,000 is the max. Why not to start new in QBO instead of importing all past years? Might workfor some? #qbochat
  56. A2: If new client had recording in a wonky way, like paying credit cards with a journal entry, it really mucked up the conversion.
    #qbochat
  57. @CathyIconis Both good ideas! Just be aware of what the file limitations are after condensing. #qbochat
  58. @goshbookkeeping Or, is there a 3rd party App that can handle that better and do other things to help donations? #QBOchat
  59. @QBOchat A2 most of my conversions were fairly simple but I can see file size being a big issue #QBOChat
  60. @CathyIconis @goshbookkeeping I run into that often in QBDE – especially when clients have used classes. Balance sheet is picky! #qbochat
  61. @CathyIconis @goshbookkeeping File corruption, transactions get out of whack depending on cash or accrual basis. #qbochat
  62. @schultetonya I heard if you have the direct link then you can purge the file at any time. #QBOchat
  63. A2: Check your lists carefully and know that Other Names list will convert as Vendors #qbochat
  64. @CathyIconis – we have had some issues with that in the past. Some errors can block purging from being possible. :-/ #qbochat
  65. A2: Had an issue with payroll even though it was turned off. #QBOChat
  66. @CathyIconis @goshbookkeeping NP is has a tight budget and needs more complex grant reporting so QBDT with @coraltreetech works. #qbochat
  67. Q3: What should you do to your desktop file before converting to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat https://t.co/vX4a16nccf

Q3: What should you do to your desktop file before converting to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/vX4a16nccf
  68. @kninjaknetwork Happened to me too. I had to get support to cancel the subscription after the import. #qbochat
  69. A3. Before you do anything, for the love of God backup your files #qbochat
  70. Q3: try to work with the smallest dataset possible, remove deleted customer, vendors #QBOchat
  71. Hey everyone! A3: Verify data, run a back up, run cash and accrual based P&L / BS for “all” time period to compare to import. #qbochat
  72. A3: Run a backup and run cash and accrual reports to compare before and after #qbochat
  73. RT @ledgerdocs A3. Before you do anything, for the love of God backup your files HAHA I Agree (I am biased) #qbochat
  74. @backupcircleapp It’s been a while. How do you remove the deleted lists? They come back as active after the conversion. #QBOchat
  75. A3: Clean up any customer and vendor duplicates since QBO doesn’t really delete anything. 🙂 #qbochat
  76. @QBOchat A3 Make sure its squeaky clean and all bank accounts are reconciled #QBOChat
  77. @backupcircleapp Good idea. Starting with only lists and balances is a good option depending on circumstance. #qbochat
  78. RT @goshbookkeeping A3: QBO doesn’t really delete anything. Correct QBO will only deactivate (hide) list objects like customers #qbochat
  79. Q1: Have you converted QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online? How was the experience? I have successfully done it several times #QBOChat
  80. A3: Be sure to include inventory reports if you use inventory in your pre and post conversion reporting. #qbochat
  81. A3: A cup of tea or coffee or your favorite drink is needed when dealing with a large file. #qbochat
  82. Q4: What data is not converted from desktop to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat https://t.co/pBHuNXC2xt

Q4: What data is not converted from desktop to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/pBHuNXC2xt
  83. A4: Non-posting accts, customer type, fixed asset items (will import as type-service), customer messages, price level data #qbochat
  84. Did you just re-certify? Or is your memory just that good? RT @schultetonya #qbochat
  85. A4: Sales tax rates and historical sales tax data, sales orders, audit log #qbochat
  86. @kninjaknetwork @QBOchat Thanks only to my detailed notes from the QBO advanced cert class! 😉 #qbochat
  87. @schultetonya @kninjaknetwork @QBOchat Did someone just earn herself a free shot of tequila at QBConnect?? :p #QBOchat
  88. Q5: What should you do after you convert your desktop file to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat https://t.co/tjSp3VHNOd

Q5: What should you do after you convert your desktop file to QuickBooks Online? #QBOchat pic.twitter.com/tjSp3VHNOd
  89. Q5: Why does it seem like the answer to many of today’s questions involve libations?
    #qbochat
  90. A5: Print the matching reports that you printed pre-converting and use to verify that all data imported correctly #qbochat
  91. A5: Run all P&L reports, products & services, balance sheets, update company settings, customize sales forms and invoices, #qbochat
  92. @QBOchat A5: verify everything came over by running financials in both systems for all transactions. #QBOChat
  93. A5: Set up the bank feed connections and QB payments connection (if needed). #qbochat
  94. A5: Recreate any custom transactions or reports, setup users and permissions. #qbochat
  95. Speaking of #QBConnect– today is the last day to save 30% on registration! #qbochat
  96. A5: If you are converting inventory, you may have to amend your statement of inventory method with the IRS. #qbochat
  97. Just a few minutes left for this week’s #QBOchat. What is your favorite take away?
  98. @QBOchat That I’m surrounded in this chat by pros who really know their stuff…and that I’ll be buying some drinks come QBConnect! #qbochat
