What do you enjoy most about participating in the Build Your Best Bookkeeping Practice Facebook Group?

The dynamic of the members is incredible,  everyone is there for the same reasons so there is no need to be superficial, just authentic and helpful.  Which is the same feeling I had when I took the course the QBO Cleanup Master Course.

Cathy is very authentic and my other classmates were super helpful. I’ve been in business for a while now so one might say, ‘why would you take a course you should already know’, but that is not the case. I am a believer that there is always something to learn, that one should always want to learn and grow. Cathy’s course gave me a different perspective on how to do it more effectively, not to mention many other helpful tips and nuggets along the way. Her friendliness and personality was just an added-treat!

How did you find out about #QBOchat?

Cindy Schroeder, founder of Bookkeeping Buds and I’m glad she did! I’ll admit in the beginning I was just a follower, never engaged in the conversations just picking up any morsels I could (if I was being totally honest) I was admiring (stalking) from a distance 🙂

What do you do?

Give my clients peace of mind, ensuring them they are able to make valuable management decisions from their numbers. In short, a bookkeeper!

What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients?

Evaluating their needs and wants; I am a great listener!  I take myself out of the equation for my clients –  I get to know them, I learn about their financial needs but also their business goals. Doing this allows me to then be able to truly partner with my clients and provide them different resources and avenues for the growth of their business.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

I have a bleeding heart to help the independent (one-women-band) business owner to feel more confident with their numbers and their business. For that, I have a DIY (do-it-yourself) bookkeeping segment of my business.

What topics interest you that you connect with others about? (kids, travel, work, tv, etc – it can be anything)

SOFTBALL!!! Yes, I am a proud die-hard softball mom. I love everything about the sport but mostly I love that my daughter went after her dream of playing the sport she loves in college. She is fulfilling that dream and it is such an incredible thing to sit back and watch her enjoy it.

Aileen GilpinDid I mention I have the best support team a women could ask for – my Husband <3 this man is my ROCK!  He faces what I feel the most hate in today’s society in his job daily, but he has the deepest most soulful heart and I am the luckiest girl to call him my husband for over 20 years.

My dogs (fur-children). My pups bring me patience, comfort, and unconditional love. They remind me to slow down, be in the moment and be kind.

I love to spend time with my family and friends up at our beach home in Alabama where for the moment there is no care in the world, just our toes in the sand….

What topic would you like to see in future Twitter chats, Facebook posts, or training?

With how the bookkeeping industry and software/apps are heading probably more conversations around how to bring our level up a notch for our clients. Being more of an adviser for their business without stepping on the heels of tax advising.

Anything else you’d like us to know or include in your post?

Random insights — I have a butterfly tattoo in remembrance of my mom. I also threw out the 1st pitch at a Chicago White Sox game in honor of her and my cousin who both lost their fight against Breast Cancer.

Laugh Daily, Believe In Yourself, and Love Passionately!

We have since grown into a very strong community comprised of a diverse group of users. Our weekly tweet chat is held each Thursday at 3:00PM Eastern. The discussions cover a wide range of topics including QBO’s latest features and updates, business operation tips and apps that integrate with QBO, to name just a few.
