What do you enjoy most about participating in #QBOchat each week?

I love the community we have and how people keep coming back. I started #QBOchat back in 2013 thinking I could bring my love of twitter marketing and QuickBooks Online together. I never imagined that we would have gotten the response we did. We’ve only missed a few weeks in that many years, mostly due to holidays.
I’m amazed by all the friendships that have formed. It has really turned into a support group for so many – and it isn’t ALL about QuickBooks Online! I’m just lucky to be able to facilitate the conversation.

How did you find out about #QBOchat?

I started it! 🙂

What do you do?

I am a CPA that runs a virtual bookkeeping firm. We provide outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, controller, and CFO support to professional service firms all over the country. All of our clients are on QuickBooks Online and we work hard to utilize technology to streamline operations for our clients while giving them the emotional and strategic support to better run their business.

What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients?

Our clients usually come to us overwhelmed about the books and are disorganized. We help them get into a system and take the majority of the work off their hands. We provide the structure and consistency so they can have the peace of mind that their books are up to date.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

Helping people reach their goals. I want to see my clients succeed in their businesses. That is why we don’t just stop at the numbers. We help make sure clients understand their financial results and help guide them towards their dreams. Sometimes that involves tough love and sometimes it can be uncomfortable, but at the end of the day, we just want our clients to be proud of the business they have built.

What topics interest you that you connect with others about?

I have two small children: Izzy (8) and Sophie (4). Most of my free time is spent hanging out with them and my husband. You’ll find us at the softball fields, hanging out with neighbors, working on our house, and running around like crazy to get homework done and everyone where they need to go.

What topic would you like to see in a future #QBOchat?

This is a hard one for me to answer. I come up with most of the topics! And, let me tell you that it is hard to keep it fresh each week and after so many years. I’m always looking for input. In general, I like to balance the topics out between QuickBooks Online specific items, New Apps, Business Management Tips, Best Practices and Support for Accountants, and some just general get to know you chats. One of my favorite chats is still #ScaryBooks that we do around Halloween each year. That is when we get to share our accounting horror stories.

QBOchat Admin

#QBOchat began in July 2013 with the simple idea to host a weekly Twitter conversation around QuickBooks Online (QBO). We have since grown into a very strong community comprised of a diverse group of users. Our weekly tweet chat is held each Thursday at 3:00PM Eastern. The discussions cover a wide range of topics including QBO’s latest features and updates, business operation tips and apps that integrate with QBO, to name just a few.
